her ears; however, she is larger.
Very Sweet!!! She came right up
to me. She loves to hug and be
rubbed. She looks thin and has a
scar on her right front ankle. She
has a soft coat and appears to be
healthy, despite being thin. |

body, black head with some white. Dark
eyes. Underbite. Long fluffy tail.
Extremely sweet and well behaved. Might
be Shih Tzu or some mix similar to that.
Long ears, long bangs. About a foot tall
when standing, and about 16" long or so.
Is definitely use to being indoors.
Growls at my cats. Found walking in the
road in Westover Hills, but went to
every door that had a light on. Is
definitely looking for her people. (I
THINK it's a girl -- really, really furry.) |

Though it says found this month. I have
seen her going up and down our road for
2 months.
Female Tan with white on her belly. She is not spayed. Took her to vet. Vet guesses her age to be 3-4 years old.No Collar,no tattoo and no microchip. In good health. Weights 27 pounds. Also vet gave her a rabies shot just to be safe.
She is shy but warmed up to us fast.
Uncomfortable in the house, likes
outside. She is always wagging her tail
anytime she see me. Very calm and very sweet. Seems to be house broken, though she likes to stay outside a lot. As of June 9, 2008 we still have her hoping her family will find her. |

hound (like an Estonian Hound).
Long ears with rounded tips.
Head is brown, back is black, feet
are white. two spots of black at
temples near ears. Cresent sliver
of white on back. Tail is about a
foot long and rounded at the end
(might be docked). Dog is gentle
with people and other dogs.
Timid at times. Playfully jumps
but not on people. |

Hanging around our
neighborhood in Reston
VA, near Lake Fairfax,
since mid-Sept 07. As of
10/01/07, we have not
caught him but he's
getting fed - plenty! ~40-
45 lbs, long legs, body is
mostly white with a tan
or brown face, black
floppy ears, pointed nose with a little white around it and his mouth, black and a
little brown or tan at
base of tail, a black
saddle that drops much
more on his left side (about to the shoulder).
Very nice and interested
in people but remains
beyond arms reach.
Joins anyone on their
walks (and jogs) through
the neighborhood.
Wants to play with the
dogs (which of course
are all leashed). Accepts
food and treats and
water. One neighbor has
gotten as close as
touching his nose, so far.
When corralled in a
fenced yard, has always
managed his way over
the fence. Clearly he has
experience with people,
but being out on the lam
like he has, he's wary.
Fairfax County Animal
Control has tried
numerous times to catch
him, including in other
neighborhoods before
ours, but hasn't been
successful. We have
several pictures; one is available at pets911.com (zip code 20190) and also on FidoFinder because those sites accept pictures of a larger size than DogDetective |

when we found him and
his hind paw is hurt. He
had made a den in the
woods, so I think he has
been lost for awhile.

and wants to play with
us. Has a habit of
jumping on people
